University of Southern California host Marine Science Academy students on Catalina
Marine Science Academy students on the Quik SCience teams were treated to a summer trip at the USC Wrigley Institute on Catalina Island. Students toured the research facility, spoke with professors, grad students, and emergency response team members, as well as having fun in the water. Click on the headline to view a few pictures.

Mariners are keeping up with the times by participating in archery in physical education.
Marine Science Students on the Bike Path
Marine Science students observed birds along the Ballona Creek Bike Path and Del Rey Lagoon. Besides a few mallard ducks, the students only saw one great blue heron. It was a disappointing bird day, but a great bike day! Click here to see.
Cinco de Mayo
Instead of a typical "school bell," the students of Marina del Rey Middle School were alerted to the start of lunch by the sound of a DJ's turn table.
QuikSCience Team takes third place in competition!
Congratulations to QuikSCience Team II. The student team placed third in the Quik Silver/ USC sponsored QuikSCience Competition. There were over one hundred teams that competed, but less than half completed the tasks. Click here to see more pictures.
