What a way to end the year! Marine Science Academy students finally participated in Camp Sea World on June 16th and June 17th. Click here for more details.
At approximately 1:30 p.m., Marine Science Academy students boarded a tour bus and head south for Sea World, San Diego. Everyone was excited! There wasn't much traffic and so the bus arrived at about 3:30 p.m. The Sea World staff wasn't ready for the nearly 60 or so group members, so everyone stretched their feet and played games at a nearby park until 5:30 p.m. Afterward, the group headed back and Sea World was ready to take us on! The large group was split into two smaller ones and the docents immediately had each group singing camp songs on the way to the Shamu show. Then, it was time for a scrumptious Italian dinner (no pizza here). Next, the groups were split up into four smaller groups and the activities began. Ms. Castaneda was proud that students were able to remember much of what she had taught. But at 10:00 p.m. students could be seen nodding their heads--it was time to hit the sleeping bags. The boys slept in "the Shark Tunnel" and the girls with the dolphins near "Journey to Atlantis."
