Marine Science Academy students participated in the the opening of the Milton "Green" St. on February 1st. Ms. Machado and Lexie Buckley were asked to speak at the opening festivities along with Councilman Mike Bonin. Paisley Stinson and Gavin Miller represented MDR at an informational booth. Marine Science Adventures with Reef Check

Marine Science students have been participating in the EMBARC program (Educational Marine Biology Adventures with Reef Check) for the past few weeks. Students have had to walk two and a half miles to participate on a floating classroom in the Marina. EMBARC focuses on taching students about marine ecosystems and how to carry out scientific investigations of the coastal waters surrounding Los Angeles. Click here for a peek into the classroom!

Participation in the ADA Title II Transition Plan is Needed by Parents

The LAUSD is committed to ensuring that students with disabilities have access to classes, programs, and activities of their choice to the same extent that students without disabilities do – and that parents and others in the community can visit schools or attend activities at schools – without regard to physical access barriers and is seeking input about priorities and other considerations.
