On April 16th third graders assisted seventh graders in cleaning up Santa Monica Beach. They picked up and classified trash, then enjoyed the sand and the water for awhile. Ine the afternoon, the students went into the Santa Monica Aquarium and took part in the hands-on activities. They touched sea urchins and sea stars and even kissed a sea cucmber for goodluck! Everyone learned a lot about our marine environment and about each other. One of the seventh graders commented on how hard it was to take care of his little guy. Everytime he looked in one direction, his thrid grader would be off in another! But in the end, they all had fun.
